amazing-apps-blogging-on-the-go

Success with social media lies in the content that you create for your audience as well as how you display and distribute it.  This is why blogging is such an essential part of your social media strategy, here you will  create the content that earns the attention of your target audience.  Ideas for your posts can often come out of no where sparked by some random situation, a question you come across, and inspiration can even come at the most inconvenient of times such as driving on the highway or at a family reunion.

Luckily, nowadays it’s easier than ever to capture your ideas and begin turning them into blog posts from almost anywhere using mobile apps for your smartphone.  The apps I will be covering for this post will be primarily Mac based (for iPhone, iPad, iPod).

With these 5 apps you will be able to blog effectively even while you are on the go:

1.  WordPress – FREE

WordPress for your iPhone and iPad is the best for when you want to start writing your post but do not have any wifi to do so.  For when you do have internet access you will be able to create and upload post edits, manage and respond to comments your readers write and even add pictures and videos.

You can also view site stats such as daily visitors, most popular posts, top referrers to your posts and outgoing links clicked.  Take charge of your blog while you are on the road with WordPress for iOS.

2.  Evernote – FREE

If you have been following my blog you know I am an avid Evernote fanatic.  One of the ways I use Evernote is to brainstormideas for my post and the elements each will contain.  I use a blogging template which I learned from Michael Hyatt in his amazing post “How To Use Evernote As A Blogger” which is a must read for anyone serious about blogging.  Check outboth of these resources above and soon you we see why both Michael and I value Evernote so much.

3.  Dictionary.com – FREE

When it comes to writing creative posts you may often find yourself using the same words or phrases over and over and over and over…sorry…and over again.  That is where Dictionary.com can come in handy.  Not only can you find new words, mature words to use, but you can use its Thesaurus to find synonyms for your most commonly used words.  Expand your vocabulary using the Dictionary.com app and spice up your posts.

4.  Bit.ly – FREE

This link shortener is great for sharing your posts through your social channels and is great for tracking click-through rates from your viewers.  You can share it to Facebook or Twitter making it easy to spread the word about your posts with your fans and followers.  The bit.ly web dashboard also gives you stats such as what sources your clicks are coming from as well as other stats.

5.  Skitch for iPad – FREE

Skitch is an awesome tool that I just began using for blogging when I have to capture and annotate images for my posts.  This app is available for your Mac or iPad and help your ideas become reality faster by providing clearer vision to your images and projects.
