Facebook-Schedule-Feature

Shout out to Mashable.com for this photo!

As you may already know, Facebook rolled out it’s new feature allowing your to target specific countries, regions, or languages for the destination of your Facebook posts.  Some close friends of mine asked me how to do this so I figured I would create a post for the rest of the world to see and be able to use.  But first, why is this such a useful Facebook marketing tactic you ask?  Let me tell you.

By segmenting your Facebook business page posts by region you are able to offer more specific offers to the fans and their friends in that area of the world.  Facebook’s posting option to post to a specific country allows huge global companies, with outposts all over the world, to post more focused and more relevant content to the people who will find it valuable.  It allows you to have a greater impact with your Facebook fans and stir conversation that will in the end provide you with invaluable insight into what they care about most.  This will give your business page an increased Facebook presence so let’s get to it, shall we?

Getting Started With Region/Language Specific Facebook Posts

1. Start a new post.

Hopefully they will be available to everyone soon enough. International companies are gonna love this one because they don’t have to create and manage multiple pages anymore.

    Hi Craig,

Powerful feature here. I don’t use it – yet – but see its value, especially since I am traveling through Asia for the year. Plenty of creative ideas that I can use to hyper target my content.

    Thanks Craig!

Very cool! I have always wanted to visit Asia, my fiance was born there. I plan on going back there one day. Hope you share your pictures on Instagram. Let me know your Username and I will check out your photos.

This feature brings a personalized feel to your posts for your fans and shows that you put in the extra time to think solely about them. It helps add value you to your business page.

Very useful feature. We have a page for the Brussels Region (in Belgium). They use French and Dutch (and English) here. So we target each post specifically for these demographics… Nice post Craig…

I used it today for a contest that we are running for a page I manage. We were targeting US customers only. It helped a lot. I will aslo be doing a new post on the new Facebook Voice feature for pages soon.

Is it possible that Facebook has made an update? On my business page the button “Public” is replaced by “Promote”, so I can’t find the option Location/Language.
And on my private page there is still the button “Public” but also without the entry “Location / Language” …??

      Hello Jan,
Facebook did roll out the promoted post features recently but you still be able to see that public tab once you begin writing your post. Can you send me a screenshot of what you are seeing?
